FAQs
AutomatexLab programs all major Omron PLC families: CP1H, CP1L, CJ2M, CJ2H, NX1P2, NX102, NJ301, NJ501, and legacy CS1/CJ1 series. We use CX-Programmer for the CP and CJ families and Sysmac Studio for the NX and NJ series.
CX-Programmer is the development environment for older Omron PLC families including CP1, CJ1, CJ2, and CS1. It primarily supports ladder diagram programming. Sysmac Studio is the unified IDE for the NX and NJ series, supporting ladder diagram, function block diagram (FBD), structured text (ST), and motion programming in a single environment. If you are migrating from CJ2 to NX, you will need to move from CX-Programmer to Sysmac Studio entirely.
Yes. Most Omron PLC programming work — including new program development, fault diagnosis, and commissioning support — can be completed remotely. We connect to your PLC via TeamViewer or AnyDesk while a technician on your end observes the machine. For commissioning, we provide step-by-step guidance in real time. On-site visits are available for clients in Maharashtra and nearby regions.
Timeline depends on project complexity. Simple programs for CP1 or CJ2 PLCs — such as conveyor control or basic packaging logic — are typically delivered in 3 to 5 business days. Mid-complexity projects involving SCADA integration or multi-step process logic take 1 to 2 weeks. Complex NX/NJ motion control or multi-axis servo programs require 2 to 4 weeks. We provide a specific timeline in the project quote before any work begins.
Yes. AutomatexLab configures Omron PLC communication with SCADA platforms and HMI panels using EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, DeviceNet, CompoNet, FINS, and OPC-UA protocols. We have experience integrating Omron PLCs with Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk, and HMI panels from Omron NA, Proface, and Weintek.
Every project includes the original CX-Programmer (.CXP) or Sysmac Studio (.SMC) project file, fully commented ladder logic, an I/O list in Excel format, a brief functional description document, and commissioning test records. For migration projects, we also provide a side-by-side mapping document showing old and new program logic.
If your PLC is still running, we upload the current program from CPU memory using CX-Programmer or Sysmac Studio, reconstruct it with full comments, and hand over a clean archived project file. If the PLC has failed and there is no backup at all, we can reverse-engineer the logic from available electrical drawings and machine documentation.
Pricing depends on PLC series, program complexity, and whether the project is new development, troubleshooting, or migration. Simple troubleshooting or small CP1 programs start at a lower fixed cost. Large NX/NJ projects with motion control and SCADA integration are quoted after scoping. Fill the form above and we will send a clear itemised quote within 24 hours.
